9th Battalion Royal Queensland Regiment (9 RQR)

The 9th Battalion mission is to train light infantry in order to provide forces for deployment on operations. Most recently the Battalion deployed members at short notice to Operation Vic Fires Assist to support search efforts after the Victorian bushfires.

The 9th Battalion is a light infantry battalion and trains soldiers in many skills including navigation, first aid, weapon handling, communications, the use of night vision equipment and military tactics. The training and experience members receive develop their personal confidence, management skills and physical fitness. Service with the Battalion provides members with advanced leadership skills and abilities.
