Commanding Officer's Welcome
Welcome to the 31st/42nd Battalion. The Battalion provides the General Reserve Infantry capability in Central and North Queensland. The Battalion Headquarters is in Townsville. Alpha Company Headquarters is currently in Cairns with a Platoon in Cairns and a Platoon in Townsville. Bravo Company is in Mackay with a Section in Emerald. Charlie Company has its Headquarters in Rockhampton with a Platoon in Rockhampton and a Platoon in Gladstone. Elements of Charlie Company are also present in Bioela. The Battalion currently has the 2nd Combat Support Services Troop (2 CSST)and the 11th Combat Support Service Battalion (11 CSSB) assigned for the provision of first line support in Central Queensland.The major sub-elements of 2 CSST are a Technical Support Platoon with a Workshop in Rockhampton and a Transport Troop with elements in Mackay and Rockhampton.
This website has been established to provide information to all elements of the Battalion and attachments in order to permit the achievement of unit capability objectives.

TULLY 2009
Over the period 9-15 May, 31/42 Royal Queensland Regiment deployed to Battle Wing Tully for EX BALIKPAPEN. This seven day training block enabled soldiers to hone their jungle fighting techniques and participate in section and platoon attacks.The battalion currently conducts two seven day training blocks per year. The next training block, in October, will concentrate on urban and open country warfighting.
