CREATION OF FORCES COMMAND (FORCOMD)

Chief of Army has directed that Army would transition into a new higher command and control structure in which Army HQ would be supported by new functional commands. One of these commands will be Forces Command (FORCOMD). The raising of FORCOMD will have profound effects on the Australian Army, building a solid foundation and be ready to adapt to constantly changing circumstances in the future.

HQ FORCOMD is currently being established through the unification of Land Headquarters (LHQ) and Headquarters Training Command - Army (HQTC-A) in order to generate Army's foundation warfighting capability to enable individuals and force elements to successfully deploy on operations.

This major restructuring within Army offers a unique opportunity for this to be a real enhancement to our staff, subordinate formations and our external stakeholders to establish a lasting and effective organisation that best meets the requirements for the deployment of Force Elements on operations and the establishment of the Army Training Continuum to support this.
