East Timor

The Band of The Royal Military College Duntroon was the first AABC to be deployed to East Timor for the tour of duty concert in december 1999.
This high profile televised concert reinforced how music can lift morale and bring people together.

The Australian Army Band Corps now continues to play an important part of the on going relationship between the East Timorese people and the Australian Defence Force. Not only does the Corps bring some colour and happiness to the East Timorese people but also gives the members of the Australian Defence force a change of pace and source of entertainment that they would not normally enjoy on opperations.
