The 7th Field Regiment is an Army Reserve Regiment of the Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery and is the major Offensive Support element of the 8th Brigade. The Regimental Headquarters is located in Pymble, whilst the two fire units, the 28th Field Battery and 113th Field Battery, are located in Dee Why and Adamstown respectively. The Regiment and the Gun Batteries have a long tradition of service in Australia and overseas as part of the First AIF, the Militia in World War Two and the CMF and Army Reserve. The Regiment is proud of those traditions and continues to serve in accordance with the Royal Regiments' motto of 'Quo Fas Et Gloria Ducunt' (Where Right and Glory Lead) and the battle honour of 'Ubique'(Everywhere).
The Regiment traces its lineage back to the forming of the 7th Field Artillery Brigade on the 17th March, 1916. The Regiment continues to proudly serve the nation on numerous domestic and operational tasks. Current and former members of the Regiment have served in Timor Leste and the Solomon Islands on Operations ASTUTE and ANODE respectively as well as Rifle Company Butterworth. Domestic operations that members of the Regiment have been involved in most recently include Operations RESOLUTE and TESTAMENT. Additionally, the Regiment provides soldiers for the 8th Brigade Reserve Response Force (RRF) and High Readiness Reserve (HRR).
