The Depot is located close to the centre of Atherton. The facility was completed in December 1999. The facilities include a mess, classroom, ablutions, laundry and eight powered tent slabs. Atherton is located 75km west of Cairns(by road) in the Tablelands. It has a population of 20 000 and its main industry is farming.

The FMB is located approx 5 minutes drive from the centre of Cooktown. The facility has indoor vehicle storage for 2 Landcruiser size vehicles and two trailers. The facilities includes a laundry, fridge and ablutions with one shower. Cooktown is located 340km north of Cairns(by road). It has a population of 3 000 and its main industries are tourism and the main service centre for the Cape.
