2/30 TRG GP is to facilitate and coordinate the missions of Australian army units operating in SE Asia as directed by LCAUST in order to promote AS defence relationships within the region.

Unit Tasks

The tasks of 2/30 TRG GP are to:

  • Provide permanent coordination and liaison dealing with RAAF, MAF, AS Defence Staff in Regional Embassies/High Commissions and other regional military forces;
  • Provide logistic support and advice to RCB on training and regional administrative matters; and
  • Perform other liaison duties as directed by LHQ.

Organisation

2/30 TRG GP has a permanent establishment in Butterworth consisting of permanent Australian Army staff (Grey) and locally employed civillians or LECs (Yellow).

Under command of the 2/30 Trg Gp is the Rifle Company Butterworth (Red) which is illustrated here .
