Commanding Officer's Statement

The Battalion is an organisation of several hundred part-time close-combat infantry soldiers. These soldiers serve in Companies (sub-units) based across Sydney and as far northwards as Newcastle.

Our role is to be ready to send individuals or groups of soldiers to supplement the full-time Army at short notice, or to deploy as a complete fighting team at longer notice. Soldiers in the Battalion have served in Bougainville and some are presently serving East Timor.

As the Commanding Officer, my focus is to prepare soldiers for war fighting. To do that I give our members thorough battle-focussed training, using modern weapons, in tough realistic and challenging excersises.

Those chosen will be developed into fit, confident fighters, earning the mateship of a unique team. You will be entrusted with the task of defending Australia and our interests.

Does this sound like you?

Lt Col P.T. Blood
