Brad Robertson was a soldier who served with the Regiment from 1977 to 1983, after being identified as the most outstanding soldier of his intake.
He left the Army in the early 80's and joined the Victorian police, but he never lost touch with the Regiment he made a point of attending Regimental Birthday functions, Cambrai Day celebrations and, in particular, the 1992 Paratus Reunion. He was always known for his love of life. Whilst in the Regiment he quickly mastered the skills needed of a crew commander and was a member of the B Sqn troop which won the Paratus Cup in 1981.
Tragically, he was killed in a police scuba diving accident in Port Phillip Bay in 1993. His father, WNGCDR Bernie Robertson (Rtd), has established the Brad Robertson Memorial Award so that the Regiment will not forget a fine soldier and comrade.
The award takes the form of Longines wrist watches, awarded to soldiers of the Regiment who are conspicuous by their constant effort to excel and also demonstrate integrity, loyalty and high standard of soldier qualities.
