JOIN THE RESERVES - COME TO THE 16th BATTALION
Background:
Australia's part-time soldiers are an important element of our defence. There are more than 250 Army Reserve units based in the cities and towns throughout Australia. The Australian Army Reserve, together with the Australian Regular Army, forms one of the largest and diverse organisations in Australia. For those people who cannot provide full-time service in the Army, the Army Reserve provides an excellent opportunity to learn new skills, while receiving tax-free pay and allowances without effecting Austudy or Social Security payments.
Employers also understand that the Army Reserve plays a vital role in our national defence and for releasing their employees they will be paid Employer Support Payments to cover most of the costs of an employee being away.
