These courses range in length and difficulty but at the end are all rewarding. Also a number of courses conducted by the army are recognised by civilian employment.
Types of Basic Courses
After completing your Recruit and IET courses there are so many other courses within the Battalion you will be able to conduct. Some of these courses are run locally and others are inter-state. For example:

This may be due to disaster relief up to assisting in major community activities (Security for Government Summits, high profile visit ect). Qualified soldiers are paid an extra $700 per year for their commitment on top of normal wages.
High Readiness Reserve - These are reserve soldiers who are trained to a higher level with additional skills, whom volunteer to work on a higher readiness. This soldiers may be called out to assist the local governments or be deployed overseas, these soldiers are awarded many benefits over a contracted period, primarily $10 000 for two years service on top of normal wages.
Drivers courses - you can learn how to drive military vehicles in an on or off road capacity.
Combat First Aid - advanced first aid training similar to industrial paramedic standard.
Promotional Courses
After being in the Army Reserves for a period of time you may be offered the opportunity to conduct promotional course so you that can progress through the ranks. To be promoted and lead soldiers you will need to complete these courses. For example:
Subject 1 and 2 for Corporal - these courses allow you to be promoted to the ranks of Lance Corporal (LCPL) the first promotion and then to Corporal (CPL) a section commander in charge of a nine man group.
Officers may do similar courses both locally and at Canungra for their progression through the ranks.
