RIFLE COMPANY BUTTERWORTH 87 (RCB 87)

13 CSSB is the Mounting Head Quarters for RCB 87 and deployed personnel to Malaysia during the August – November 2009 period. During the deployment to RCB personnel will improve infantry and special-to-corps skills. The deployment has also included regional travel learning about Australia's military history in Malaysia and Singapore.

RCB 87 will return to Australia in November 2009. To celebrate the return of our soldiers, and to reunite families with their loved ones as soon as possible, families will be invited to attend a reception function at Irwin Barracks on the day the contingent arrives in Perth.

Due to service and operational requirements the exact time and location of the contingent's arrival into Perth will not be known until closer to the return date. However, families will be notified of any updates or changes as soon as the information is available.

The first opportunity for families to see their family members returning to Australia will be when they arrive in coaches into Irwin Barracks. This will minimises inconvenience to families and is necessary to ensure the safe and secure return of the contingent.

Correspondence to families

A letter will be sent to the next of kin or the nominated family members of all deployed personnel of RCB 87. Letters will provide information on the reception function and any updates on the contingents return to Australia. Letters are scheduled to be sent to families on the 05 Oct and 27 Oct 09.
