AIRN
IMPORTANT - check your AIRN status?
Remember the "I" in AIRN stands for individual. All soldiers, NCO's and Officers are to ensure they do not "fall out" of AIRN compliancy. To be compliant you must pass the BFA, weapon test, be dentally fit and have a current medical assessment. Your sub-unit can give you details of the requirements or contact 13 CSSB orderly room. If you are in the HRR or RRF not being compliant WILL effect your bonus payments.
- Your sub-unit can arrange a BFA on most Tuesday nights.
- The PTI can design a training program to assist you if have a problem with any part of the assessment.
- Weapons testing can be arranged at the WTSS most Tuesday nights.
- For dental or medical checks, work through your chain of command for appointments.
- Remember plan ahead requalify while you are still AIRN compliant!!
Welcome to the 13th Combat Service Support Battalion (13 CSSB) web site. The intention of this website is to provide a useful tool to assist unit members in their daily administration and provide 13 Brigade units and other interested organisations with updates on life in the 13 CSSB. The website is beneficial for personnel being posted to or thinking of joining 13 CSSB as well as current members.

13 CSSB has undergone major structural and functional change on account of Project FOCUS and Project POZIERES. This has seen the amalgamation of administrative and logistic components of the Brigade into 13 CSSB. The bedding down of administrative and logistic support arrangements will continue in 2009 as 13 CSSB adjusts to the Regional Training concept with the establishment of WAUR as the regional training provider. It is expected that 2009 will be a year of consolidation in respect to the delivery of administrative and logistic support. The challenge of maintaining first class administrative and logistic to 13 Bde will remain constant as the demands imposed by the operational tempo are expected to continue.
The Battalion has a long and proud tradition linked back through its subunits in both the first and Second World Wars. Members of the 13th Combat Service Support Battalion are proud of their history, their recent achievements and the unique skills they offer to the Australian Army. All ranks of 13 CSSB are proud of the unit raison detra "Soldiers Supporting Soldiers" which is fundamental to our business.

| Regimental Sergeant Major |
The leaders of tomorrow need development today. All members will be given the opportunity to develop within their trades and as soldiers. The growth of our junior leaders needs to come from the "passing of the baton" from the senior members of the Battalion. This can be accomplished by training your subordinates to take over your role. No one is irreplaceable and all should be striving for advancement and superiors be providing the opportunities for their subordinates to advance!
13 CSSB is a diverse unit with many Corps and trades and it is my responsibility to ensure that all members are career managed. As such, I encourage all members that are to be posted at the end of this year to ensure that your EPAR is filled out on PMKeyS Self Service and sent to your OC for their comments so you can submit them! If you have any concerns with regard to your career, then seek me out through your chain of command with your career plan and I will talk to your CM about future career options.
This is another busy year for the Battalion and we need to maintain our corporate governance but also remember that we have a great deal of administrative and logistical support to provide as the mounting headquarters for OP ANODE, RCB 87 and also supporting CATA this year. These are upon the training commitments for unit run and promotion courses throughout the year.
All personnel are encouraged to parade and assist with the maintenance of our support to the Brigade. I encourage all AR personnel to parade and I appreciate the time you take from your personal life and civilian employment to provide service to the Army.
Again, as the Regimental Sergeant Major I am committed to the development, career management and well being of the soldier's within 13 CSSB. It is an exciting year with many opportunities for soldiers to develop their careers and to deploy overseas. This should see many increase their skills and be effective for Army's future needs.
