10 Platoon
10 platoon is the primary platoon in Delta coy, made up of all the qualified infantrymen in the company. 10 platoon consists of approximately 30 infantrymen and can provide a multitude of functions. 10 pl also participates most battalion exercises.
Some of the tasks that 10 pl can perform include:
- section level patrolling
- platoon level patrolling
- cordon and search
- section attacks
- platoon attacks
- construct field defences
- perform platoon level defence, as well as many more.
Individual soldier skills include:
- handling of prisoners of war
- searching prisoners
- handling of potentially hostile individuals
- basic formations
- navigation
- radio operation
- operation of a variety of infantry weapons including machine guns and grenades
- plus many others
10 platoon also participates in local exercises within the battalion, including rife and grenade range weekends, as well as exercises interstate and overseas. 10 pl also works closely with the other platoons in the company as well as the members of support company.
10 pl is also the primary source of infantry soldiers for the Force Protection Company Group where members have the opportunity to gain a variety of skill sets in addition to those gained as a rifleman.
