Career paths
Defence is implementing a new approach to career development and talent management for Defence Australian Public Service (APS) employees.
The Defence APS Core Capability Framework describes the common core leadership, management and administrative skills, knowledge and behaviours for each APS classification level in Defence regardless of an individual employee's workgroup or geographical location.
The framework has been developed to ensure Defence APS employees have:
- the skills and knowledge to perform in their jobs;
- the opportunities to extend and develop their careers within Defence; and
- career paths supported by well defined and resourced learning and development strategies.
