Anzac Day in Perth

A Dawn Service was conducted at the State War Memorial, Kings Park, Perth this Saturday the 25th April 2009. The pre-service activities commenced at 0530. Commander Australian Navy Submarine Group, Commodore Steve Davies was the official representative of the Royal Australian Navy at the Service.

The Royal Australian Navy, represented by personnel from HMAS STIRLING, Western Australian Home Port Ships and Fleet Base West Resident Units took part in ceremonies commemorating ANZAC Day 2009. STIRLING personnel were involved in numerous ANZAC Day commitments, with the foremost of these being the ANZAC Day Parades through the City of Perth, the City of Fremantle, and the City of Rockingham. Other commitments including Dawn Services, smaller parades and various representational duties have also been scheduled for the period.
