ANZAC Day ceremony in Noumea

The ANZAC Day ceremony in Noumea was held at the Shrine of Remembrance and attended by members of the French, New Zealand and Australian Defence Forces.

The ceremony precedes exercise Croix du Sud (Southern Cross) that begins in New Caledonia on 26 April 2006.

The aim of the exercise is to train a multinational force to plan and conduct evacuation and humanitarian missions.

The French Armed Forces New Caledonia (FRANC) is conducting the exercise with participants from Australia, New Zealand, Tonga, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Vanuatu in attendance.
