ADF staff meet with their parliamentarian members

Members from the Australian Defence Force recently participated in the Australian Defence Force Parliamentary Program (ADFPP) 2010 at Parliament House, Canberra.

The ADFPP enables the opportunity for parliamentarians to work alongside the men and women of the ADF in their daily routine. This added dimension of mixing directly with personnel in their workplace provides a unique opportunity to experience first hand the challenges facing the ADF.

The other dimension of the ADFPP that has gained particular prominence and momentum since its introduction in 2003 has been the opportunity for selected ADF personnel to be hosted by parliamentarian during a sitting week at Parliament House. This exchange element provides an equally unique opportunity for our future ADF leaders gain a greater understanding of the Westminster system of government and the environment in which our elected officials operate.
