ADFPP visits Talisman Saber 2009

The ADF Parliamentary Program came to Shoal Water Bay Training Area for Exercise Talisman Saber this year.

As part of the visit, 7 Brigade hosted Senator Stephen Hutchins, Nola Marino MP, and Bob Baldwin MP from 18 to 21 July.

The visit included exposure to the comprehensive targeting processes employed by the ADF on today's battlefield as well as overnight experiences with deployed combat elements.

On arrival at HQ 7 Bde, key staff provided operational and procedural briefs to assist the ADFPP members gain insight to the military environment.

Federal Member for Forrest WA, Nola Marino said that it is important for legislators and those involved in budget processes to experience the Parliamentary Program.

"This is an experience of a lifetime. Bringing us to the coal face of what the troops do allows us to see what they need to do their jobs," the Member for Forrest said.
