Transition of ADFPC-C to 28 Squadron
On Monday, 1 August 2011, the Australian Defence Force Personnel Centre – Canberra was merged with No. 28 (City of Canberra) Squadron. The merger was a result of Air Force Organisational directive 2011-02. As a result of this merger, all personnel who were previously administered by ADFPC-C will now be administered by 28 Squadron. Those reserve members who were part of 28 Squadron will remain in the squadron.
The Commanding Officer (CO) and staff of No 28 (City of Canberra) Squadron welcome newly posted members to the Nation's Capital. 28 SQN provides complex administrative support for all Army and Air Force personnel posted to the ACT region, other than members of formed and self-administering units, including ADFA, RMC, HQJOC, 34SQN, 462SQN, AFG and 460SQN. Navy personnel in the region are administered by HMAS HARMAN.
Routine administrative matters such as pay and leave are managed by the nearest Customer Service Centre (CSC). For applications which require a Commanding Officer’s (CO) authorisation (e.g. Interdependent Partnership Applications, Applications for Member With Dependants (Unaccompanied), Redress of Grievances etc), CSC’s will forward the application to CO 28 SQN.
The range of administrative applications requiring a CO’s authorisation may include:
a) Defence Home Ownership Scheme Applications;
b) Applications for Home Purchase Assistance Scheme;
c) Applications for Home Purchase or Sales Expense Allowance;
d) Recognition of Inter-dependant Partnerships;
e) Education Assistance;
f) Compassionate Leave and Travel;
g) Reunion Travel;
h) Changes of Categorisation;
i) Deployment administration support;
j) Opening and closing of Operation Logs;
k) Investigations of Redress of Grievances for RAAF personnel; and

28SQN's normal business hours are 0830 to 1630, Monday to Friday, however urgent appointments can be arranged outside of these hours. We will endeavour to deliver a professional and efficient service in meeting your administrative needs during your posting to Canberra. We welcome any constructive feedback on how we might improve our level of service to you.
