ADFA Open Day – Saturday, 31 August

The Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) will hold its annual Open Day on Saturday, 31 August from 9:00am to 4:00pm.  Open Day is a chance for potential candidates, parents and members of the community, to see a range of exciting military displays by the Navy, Army and Air Force and to learn about life at the Academy.

This year’s Open Day includes ground and aerial displays by the Navy, Army and Air Force as well as ADFA's very own Forumla SAE vehicle.

Visitors can see a flypast by an F/A-18, Military Working Dogs, Section Attack, fencing and water polo displays, and people over the age of 13 years can attempt shooting in the Weapons Training Simulation System.

Midshipmen and Officer Cadets will display some of their training by completing the above pool obstacle course, conducting outdoor battle physical training, abseiling, rock climbing and practicing military self defence. The Academy’s Precision Drill Team and Band will also perform throughout the day.

Defence and University of New South Wales Canberra(UNSW Canberra) staff will be on hand to provide career and course information for interested individuals and their families.

Midshipman and Officer Cadets will also be available to talk about life at ADFA and to conduct personalised tours of accommodation blocks.  They can give you a first hand account of their military and leadership training as well as their academic experience.

Whether you are after more information about studying at ADFA, looking for a great family day out or want to see all that our Services have to offer, this is one day not to be missed.
