Graduates of the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) will celebrate their achievements during Graduation Week in December 2011. Family, friends and members of the community are invited to celebrate with the Graduating Class at a number of events including:

The 2011 Graduation Parade will be held on Thursday 8 December on the main parade ground at ADFA from 9.30am to 11.30am. The Reviewing Officer will be Her Excellency, Ms Quentin Bryce, AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.
More than 1000 Midshipmen and Officer Cadets will march on Parade to celebrate their individual achievements, as well as those of the graduating class.
The Academy is pleased to welcome the guests of graduates to this important event, and hope the following information assists those planning to attend.
Arrival
Guests are requested to park where directed by the car-parking attendants on Graduation Parade Day. Guests are requested to be seated by 9.20 am.
Dress
Guests are requested to wear the following dress:
Civilian: Lounge Suit or equivalent for ladies Current serving members: One Star and above, plus Tier C and Tier D RSMs:
RAN - S2
ARA - SO1 (less sword)
RAAF - Ceremonial Dress 2A (2 Star and above); Ceremonial Dress 4A (1 Star and below) (less sword)
Other personnel:
RAN - S2
ARA - 1B
RAAF - Ceremonial Dress 4A
Please note that seating for the Parade is not under cover, you may wish to bring sunscreen or hat and bottled water.
Luncheon
Following the parade, a light luncheon will be served in the Academy Cadets’ Mess from 11.30am to 1.00pm for all graduates. Each graduate is entitled to invite five guests to attend the luncheon. Entry into the luncheon is dependent on producing the enclosed yellow entry cards. It is important that these cards are secured and brought with you on the day.
Guests with yellow entry cards are requested to enter the Cadets’ Mess via the lower level doors.

Inclement weather
In the event of wet weather a decision to cancel the Parade will be made at 8.00 am. Local radio stations will be advised of the cancellation, or alternatively you may contact the ADFA Coordination Cell on (02) 6268 8606 or 0419 049 470 for confirmation.
DVD
A DVD of the Graduation Parade will be available for sale. To order, visit: http://media.unsw.adfa.edu.au/events/grad_dvd.html. The Graduation DVD is $15 including GST, and will be available in late January.
Photos
Photographs will be taken by UNSW at ADFA staff and Scene To Believe during the Graduation Week. Photo options and Testamur framing can be purchased before the events from https://www.connectgraduations.com.au/ADFA/login/ with the password UN5W11. Student ID is also required to log in.

The Graduate Certificate Presentation will be held on Thursday 8 December in Adams Hall, ADFA from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
This is intended to be an informal occasion where the Graduates will receive their Academy Certificates in front of the Squadron staff, fellow class mates and their guests.
Dress: Lounge suit or equivalent for ladies.
No tickets required, guests welcome. Please be seated by 1.20pm.
The UNSW at ADFA Degree Conferral Ceremonies will be held on Wednesday 7 December in Adams Hall, ADFA. From10am to 12pm is Business, Humanities and Social Science and from 2pm to 5pm Engineering, Science and Information Technology.
Dress: Lounge suit or equivalent for ladies.
Each graduate will receive three tickets only. Please be seated 15 minutes before the ceremony.
The Academic and Military Prizes and Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday 7 December in Adams Hall, ADFA from 6pm to 7.30pm.
The event recognises Midshipmen and Officer Cadets who have displayed excellence in a particular military or academic discipline.
This ceremony is limited to invited guests, however all Midshipmen and Officer Cadets receiving a prize or award will be notified in advance to enable them to invite a small number of family or friends.
Dress: Lounge suit or equivalent for ladies.
Graduates eligible for promotion will be promoted by the Commandant at a small Ceremony on Friday 9 December. These graduates may invite a limited number of family and friends to attend the event.
As part of the 2011 Graduation ceremonies, ADFA will hold a Graduation Church Service on Tuesday 6 December from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. The service will be held in the Anzac Memorial Chapel of St Paul, Duntroon.
The Church Service will be led by ADFA Chaplains and feature the ADFA Banner and Ensign Parties and the ADFA Band.
The purpose of this service is to give thanks for the successes of the graduating students and to seek God’s blessing upon them as they go into the next phase of their military careers. At this service graduating students make their Act of Dedication to serve their country.
All ADFA military, academic and Defence Australian Public Service staff, families and friends of Midshipmen and Officer Cadets, and visitors are welcome to attend the Graduation Church Service.
