2008 Australian Student Prize Winner

Minister for Defence Personnel, Material and Science and Federal Member for Charlton, the Hon Greg Combet, congratulates OCDT Sarah Hall and presents her with a 2008 Australian Student Prize.

The prestigious Australian Student Prize is a Commonwealth Government initiative which gives national recognition to 500 students annually for their academic excellence and achievement in senior secondary school.

OCDT Hall said she felt privileged to receive the award.

‘Being nominated is an honour, so receiving the award is simply amazing,” OCDT Hall said.

OCDT Hall was nominated for the award based on a recommendation by the New South Wales Minister for Education and Training, the Hon Verity Helen, for her outstanding 2008 Year 12 HSC results.

With so many options available, Minister Combet was impressed that Sarah had chosen to pursue a career as an Officer in the Australian Army.

OCDT Hall is currently in first year at the Australian Defence Force Academy in Canberra where she is studying Civil Engineering through the University of New South Wales.

OCDT Hall’s commitment and dedication was recognized with $2000 and a certificate of excellence.
