The ADFA Lawn Bowls Club was established in 2006, and has in its short history grown into a vibrant and popular club. The club has catered for its membership of more than 100 Midshipmen and Officer Cadets (cadets) by providing weekend "roll ups", as well as a host of social events. In particular, the club's annual "Bowls and Bingo" night allowed cadets to relax over a quiet beer and some bingo, and reflect on a highly successful year of Lawn Bowls.
The Club caters for all levels of ability and enthusiasm. From its home base at the Canberra North Bowls Club (CNBC) in Turner the club provides fortnightly weekend bowls sessions for more socially minded bowlers. For the higher level bowlers, competitions are run under the supervision of CNBC. Opportunities also exist for cadets and midshipman to gain selection in state and national Australian Defence Force (ADF) squads.
Although in its first year, the club has already achieved a great deal. Under the skilled and enthusiastic guidance of the Lawn Bowls Club committee for 2007, the Club will continue to grow and flourish.
