Hockey Club

The ADFA Bears Hockey Club provides the opportunity for Midshipmen and Officer Cadets (cadets) to play a team sport in the local Canberra competition, on weekends during the winter months of the year. In 2006, ADFA raised a total of six teams; five male and one female. With teams ranging from the very competitive to those simply wishing to have a social game, there is a team for everyone, and plenty of opportunities to socialise when not on the sporting field. Opportunities also exist for players to represent their state or country, with several current cadets being selected to represent the ACT, the Army, Navy or Air Force, and ADF teams.

The ADFA Bears also provides an opportunity for cadets to interact with members of local military units who who they may be working with once graduated from the academy.

The ADFA Bears are a social club, with events such as the famous "Moonlight Bus", as well as the End of Year Presentation Night, highlights of the year. The club is one of ADFA's biggest and most successful, and welcomes all newcomers to the Academy to come play for one of their teams.
