Community Service VECA

The Community Service Voluntary Extra Curricular Activity (CSV) aims to help the local community. We are involved in many activities throughout the year.

In 2006 we took part in the following activities:

  • Red Cross Door Knock Appeal
  • Legacy: selling Legacy badges at local shopping centres
  • Shave for a Cure
  • CanTeen Day: taking CanTeen (teenagers living with cancer) members out for a day to participate in canoeing, the over water obstacle course, Weapons Training Simulator (WTSS) sessions, and ration pack displays.
  • MOVEMBER: growing moustaches for fundraising for the male prostate cancer foundation
  • Red Nose Day
  • Remembrance Day: selling poppies

The CSV work hard to promote these activities in order to help the local community. New volunteers are regularly welcomed to help participate in these extremely rewarding activities.

Members are not required to participate in every activity, although it is encouraged. Members may choose which activities they would like to participate in and non-members may also participate in individual activities.
