Geddes Papers - 2003

The Geddes Papers are a collection of selected research papers by course members of the Australian Command and Staff College. The Geddes Papers are published annually.

Brigadier Ian Geddes was the founding Director of the Joint Services Wing (JSW) of what was then intended to be the Australian Services Staff College at Weston Creek. The Joint Services Wing was redesignated the Australian Joint Services Staff College (JSSC) in July 1972. While Director of the JSW he established an association of its alumni which survives to this day as the Australian Defence Colleges Association (ADCA). The building that houses the Australian Command and Staff College, and the title of this collection of papers, recognises his contribution to military education in Australia.

Views expressed in the Geddes Papers are solely those of the individual authors. They are not necessarily those of their governments and should not be considered as the official endorsement of factual accuracy, opinion, conclusion or recommendation of those governments or departments. They should be construed only as the author's own personal opinion. This selection of papers is designed to present a variety of opinions from course members attending the Australian Command and Staff College.

The Geddes Papers have been produced by the Education Services Centre (temporarily unavailable) at the Australian Defence College on behalf of the Commandant of the Australian Command and Staff College.
