The Commandant of the Australian Command and Staff College, Brigadier Peter Gates, welcomed Rear Admiral Agung Pramono, Indonesia Eastern Fleet Commander, to the Australian Defence College campus on Wednesday 6 February. The Rear Admiral was in Australia on a counterpart visit with Commander Australian Fleet, Rear Admiral Tim Barrett.
Brigadier Peter Gates gave an informative presentation, followed by discussion, regarding the course curriculum and how the Australian Command and Staff College works in unison with the Australian National University, to offer a Masters Degree at the end of the intensive 11 month military studies course.
The Australian Defence College currently has two exchange Indonesian Officers working as Directing Staff at Australian Command and Staff College. The visit also provided Rear Admiral Agung Pramono with an opportunity to meet with Indonesian Course Members who are studying at the college. Rear Admiral Agung Pramono was the Indonesian Assistant Defence Attache in Canberra during the period 2003-2006.
