Shedden Papers The Shedden Papers are a collection of selected course member research from the Centre for Defence and Strategic Studies. Sir Frederick Geoffrey Shedden KCMG, OBE, was the Secretary of the Department of Defence from 1937 to 1956. The building that houses the Centre for Defence and Strategic Studies, and the title of this collection of papers, recognises his contribution to Australia's postwar national security. Views expressed in the Shedden Papers are solely those of the individual authors. They are not necessarily those of their governments and should not be considered as the official endorsement of factual accuracy, opinion, conclusion or recommendation of those governments or departments. They should be construed only as the author's own personal opinion. This selection of papers is designed to present a variety of opinions from course members and guest presenters at the Centre for Defence and Strategic Studies at the Australian Defence College.
