MOBi-lert is wireless and automatic, thus making the system very easy to use. It eliminates the need for constant musters and head counts, and makes the often risky business of going out to sea so much safer.
The key to the system is the rechargeable Pendant worn by every person on board that stays in constant contact with the on-board receiver, which recognises the different electronic signature that each Pendant transmits. Pendants transmit a "safe" signal every second, so the moment that communication between a Pendant and the receiver is interrupted for any reason, the alarm sounds and the way point is logged. The reasons for an interruption to the signal may be that the Pendant has moved out of range (ie. the person wearing the Pendant has moved off the boat and down the jetty), or that the person has fallen overboard, thus immersing the Pendant in water and blocking the signal to the on-board receiver.

MOBi-lert ensures that the alarm is raised instantly, and also:

• Records the time and exact location of the person falling overboard using GPS
• Can trigger a second alarm in the cabin or other location

The system has a second relay that can electrically initiate other responses that might further assist in the quick recovery of the crew member. These may include:

• Dan buoy release
• Self-steering trip
• Engine cut-out
• Head-to-wind command to autopilot

Crewsafe™ is Mobilarm's new product for the commercial marine industry. Crewsafe is an automatic wireless man overboard system that provides alerts and GPS recovery information in man overboard events. Crewsafe is for professional mariners who consider the safety of their crew to be their number one priority. Scalable to virtually any sized vessel, the system requires each crew member to wear a small personal Crewsafe Tag, which, if disconnected from the network through either submersion in water or distance from the network, will set off a system alert enabling a speedy recovery.

Unlike traditional marine safety solutions such as EPIRB's (which must generally be manually activated by the person in distress) Crewsafe is fully automatic, and, while an EPIRB transmits the emergency signal to an onshore location, Crewsafe immediately alerts crew members onboard the vessel - providing vital track back information to ensure a fast and efficient rescue.

Crewsafe can be connected directly to your existing GPS or chart plotter to provide track back information. Alternatively you can use the intuitive Crewsafe Management Software for track back directions back to the point where the person fell into the water. The system also offers additional features such as paging individuals, and the Safety Screen provides an overall view of crew status and the integrity of the safety network. Built-in content management also provides a basic onboard crew management system where you can store important personal data and other relevant information such as medical qualifications and/or conditions.

Crewsafe doesn't apply only to on-water vessels, but can also be implemented onto wharves, loading facilities and oil rigs to protect all workers. The Safety Screen in these situations is still able to provide the location information of the person overboard or in distress, and can assist in coordinating a rescue team or rescue boats to perform a recovery.
