systems integration
Boeing Australia has applied its integration skills on a range of Command, Control and Communication (C3) projects of increasing complexity.
The company applies integration strategies to systems as defined in the Boeing Australia Systems Engineering Process Manual (SEPM). An internal education program conducted by specialists from Australia and the US supports company processes. This education program is now being further supported by Boeing Australia's sponsorship of a Chair of Systems Engineering at the University of Queensland. Current integration capabilities are now being enhanced to accommodate incremental and spiral development strategies necessary for more rapid development in large-scale, complex projects.
For each of Boeing Australia's acquisition projects, specialised integration environments have been developed and are supported by appropriate processes and a Quality Assurance organisation. These integration environments have been designed not only for testing but also for developmental purposes during acquisition, and for post-acquisition evolution and growth. Integration processes from the SEPM are designed to address a wide range of interfaces to meet various international standards such as the Institute of Electric and the Electrical Engineer (IEEE) and Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) standards.
