Raytheon Australia's production and through-life support of the family of submarine Combat Systems involves Reachback™ of expertise to Raytheon Company in the USA, management of the entire command structure, including intelligence, communications, navigation and weapons management.

The system is part of the USN ongoing Technology Insert program that continues to be modified to cater for new or additional operational requirements through the addition of new, more powerful processors and state of the art software, to ensure the system maintains an operational edge. Open Interface units have been developed to allow the addition of equipment not in the original baseline design; some of these units have been designed, manufactured, installed and tested by Raytheon Australia.

The first generation of the new Replacement Combat System, based on the USN ANBYG-1, has been installed, set-to-work and integrated at the RAN's Submarine Training and Systems Centre, HMAS Stirling and a Collins Class submarine, with successful sea trials nearing completion. The next generation of the ANBYG-1 is now undergoing installation at the RAN's shore facilities and the next Collins platform for sea trials mid 2008.
