capability assessment (Capability Management Suite)

Felix is a capability assessment tool that may be used to show the real-time capabilities of a system or the current organisational unit based on the component elements providing the capabilities. Felix is best employed where operators of large complex systems have to determine optimum alternate strategies for achieving their operational goals. Using Felix, supervisors can quickly identify alternate modes of operation in the event of minor to multiple failure occurrences. Failures and state of component parts can be directly entered into Felix or input by interfacing to a live status feeds.

Legion is an adaptation and extension of the Felix capability assessment tool developed by OSM. Legion takes the status from multiple units that Felix reports on and translates the unit capabilities into group capabilities. Legion can also take output from other Legion applications. This allows Legion to report to successively higher levels of management combining the capabilities of groups and divisions. Legion provides views of capability at the appropriate level of management and allows management to drill down the through the capabilities to the component parts providing the capability.

Centurion is an organisational staff-profiling tool, which provides the backbone information for Felix to assess Personnel capabilities and limitations. Its prime focus is in managing staffing levels, qualification and training to maintain required capability.

TopCAT is a system or organisational event or “what if” simulator, which allows for two-way analysis and diagnosis of errors or faults within complex integrated organisations or systems.
