In 1992 Liferaft Systems Australia (LSA) pioneered the inclined slide based dry shod Marine Evacuation System (MES). LSA's proven MES is designed to be simple to use and deliver passengers and crew, fast yet safe, directly into large capacity liferaft. Today the LSA MES is world renowned for reliability and is installed on all types of passenger & personnel carrying vessels, including conventional ferries, high-speed craft, cruise ships, military vessels and private yachts.

Diversification has been a key element of the company's continued success having developed unrelated products such as the Cormorant Lift Bag (CLB) and an Aviation Rescue Platform (ARP). The CLB was developed for, and in conjunction with, the Royal Australian Navy, whilst the ARP has been developed for Air Services Australia.

LSA remains a relatively small company, employing 60 highly-skilled personnel locally and two full-time international sales executives based in the UK and Canada
