Singapore Airshow 2012
14-19 February 2012
Held biennially in Singapore, this Airshow is one of the world's top aviation events and is the biggest aerospace and defence exhibition in Asia. The event serves as a global marketplace and networking powerhouse for the world aviation community. The Airshow also features a series of high level conferences dedicated to leading players in the global aviation industry. In 2010, the event included nearly 900 exhibiting companies from 36 countries and over 40,000 trade attendees from 133 countries.

Chile Exploratory Trade Mission 2012
27 March - 1 April 2012
Chile is an emerging market for Australian defence exports with strong potential for growth. To explore the opportunities, an exploratory trade mission to Chile is being planned for April and will assist Australian defence companies make important trade and investment business connections in the growing market of South America. The trade mission will also include the International Defence Air & Space Fair (FIDAE) and visits to the military and state-owned defence organisations in addition to visits to the Prime companies operating in the region. FIDAE 2012 (www.fidae.cl) is amongst the top five air shows worldwide, presenting the latest in technology in the aerospace and defence market. The show highlights areas of civil and commercial aviation, defence, aircraft maintenance, airport equipment and services, space technology and homeland security.
Australian defence companies who have an interest in the South American market are now invited to complete and submit an application form.

Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2012
16-19 April 2012
Held biennially in Kuala Lumpur, DSA has become one of the top defence and security exhibitions within the Asia Pacific region, and is an important procurement hub for defence and security within the region. DSA showcases cutting edge defence and security technology and services, and provides a platform for successful networking, business collaborations and strategic alliances. The event is supported by the Malaysian Ministry of Defence, Malaysian Armed Forces and Royal Malaysia Police. In 2010, the event attracted over 22,000 trade visitors from 58 countries and over 830 participating companies from 42 countries.
In association with DSA 2012, Team Australia is planning a maritime and aerospace trade mission to Malaysia and Singapore to follow up on the exposure gained for Australian defence industry by the Team Australia presence at LIMA 2011 and the 2012 Singapore Airshow. Companies in the maritime and aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul; aircraft life extension; maritime and aerospace components and systems sectors are encouraged to apply for participation.
Australian defence companies are invited to submit applications to participate as part of Team Australia at DSA 2012 and/or the mission to Malaysia and Singapore. Applications close 8 February 2012.

Middle East Trade Mission 2012
April / May 2012
The Middle East continues to provide a range of opportunities for defence industry companies particularly in the areas of training and simulation, electronics and aircraft maintenance. To take advantage of these opportunities in 2012, a trade mission to Turkey, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Oman is being planned from 23 April to 7 May 2012. The mission will build on the Team Australia reputation established by our presence at IDEX and the Dubai Airshow, and recent trade missions in the region.
Defence companies with products in the training and simulation, electronics, surveillance, radar, aircraft maintenance and ground support, vehicle protection, and small watercraft sectors are encouraged to participate.

Farnborough International Airshow 2012

The Farnborough International Airshow is one of world's premier defence and civilian aerospace exhibitions - a globally renowned showcase of aerospace equipment and technology for the world's military and civil aerospace sectors. In 2010, the event announced business orders worth US$47 billion.

India Trade Mission 2012
July/August 2012 (Subject to Industry interest)
The Defence Export Unit (DEU) is planning a trade mission to New Delhi and Bangalore, India which will involve visits to major companies and relevant organisations in the aerospace industry. Bangalore is the centre of India's aerospace industry. The Australian defence industry and capabilities are not well known to the Indian market so this trade mission will provide companies with an opportunity to promote their quality niche products and equipment. This mission will also provide companies with preliminary knowledge and contacts for a possible attendance at the Aero India Aerospace trade show in February 2013.
Australian defence companies are now invited to consider attending this trade mission to New Delhi and Bangalore, India.

National Veterans Small Business Conference and Expo 2012

The US Department of Veterans Affairs is hosting this event in August 2012, at the Ernest N. Morial Memorial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The largest nationwide conference of its kind, the National Veteran Small Business Conference provides Veteran-Owned and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSBs and SDVOSBs) an opportunity to learn, network and market their businesses. In 2011, a number of Australia SME identified by the US Comparative Technology Office as having products of merit attended the event and several formalised partnership agreements with US companies.

Modern Day Marine (MDM) 2012
September 2012
Held annually in Quantico (just south of Washington DC in Virginia), this event is co sponsored by the Marine Corps Base at Quantico - home of Combat Development Command and Marine Corps Systems Command which are responsible for setting requirements, developing and purchasing systems to meet future Marine Corps needs. The event is the largest exposition of expeditionary warfare equipment in the world, with more than 400 exhibitors and over 8,000 attendees, showcasing equipment and systems that support air, land and sea operations.

Association of United States Army Annual Meeting and Exposition (AUSA) 2012

The AUSA Annual Meeting, the world's largest land power forum, brings together America's Army. The US Army is one of the largest military organisations in the world with personnel deployed to the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. The US Army has an array of equipment currently in service including, uniforms, field equipment, weapons, tactical communications, light and heavy vehicles, armoured personnel carriers and tanks, bulk carriers, transport vehicles as well as fixed and rotary winged aircraft. Washington DC, the capital of the United States and has one of the largest concentrations of defence acquisition personnel and is also the headquarters of many of the US defence contractors. AUSA provides an excellent opportunity for companies to network with these organisations and a unique opportunity to showcase defence industry products and services to key Army and DoD decision-makers, discover new developments in defence technology and meet with colleagues from the world-wide defence community.

INDO Defence 2012 and Possible Mission to Indonesia and Brunei
7-10 November 2012 (Exhibition)
Held biennially in Jakarta, this event is hosted by the Indonesian Ministry of Defence and is Indonesia's premier official Tri-Service Defence event. Over 400 companies from 37 countries and 20,000 trade visitors attend the Expo. The event showcases international defence industry and presents an opportunity for international companies to partner with Indonesian defence industries.
Chile EXPONAVAL Martime Exhibition 2012

The Exponaval 2012 maritime exhibition is held biennially in Valparaiso, Chile exposing exhibitors to a region that is seeking to establish long term relationships with international defence suppliers. Defence and Austrade will work closely to support Australia defence companies exhibiting at Exponaval 2012.

MacDill SDVOSB/VOSB and SB Conference & Expo is a two-day conference being held December at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, FL.
