Defence Export Unit

The Defence Export Unit (DEU) is an Australian Government initiative announced in the Defence and Industry Policy Statement 2007. The DEU has been created with the role of enhancing Australian industry sector exports of defence- and security-related goods and services through the reinforcement of a whole-of-government approach to facilitating defence exports from Australia.

The DEU has been establised to assist Australian defence companies to access export markets with a view to sustaining the defence industry sector through increased sales derived from a broader customer base.
