Boarding party allowance

You may get boarding party allowance if you have to board a target vessel as a member of a boarding party. This allowance makes up for the special demands of boarding a foreign target vessel.

Who can get boarding party allowance?

You may get boarding party allowance if you are a member of the:

  • Permanent Forces
  • Reserves on continuous full-time service, or
  • Reserves on Reserve service.

When can I get boarding party allowance?

You may get a daily rate for each day you board a foreign target vessel. If you board more than one vessel on the same day, you only get paid once.

Can I get other allowances at the same time?

You may get boarding party allowance and maritime disability allowance at the same time.

You can't get boarding party allowance if you get some other allowances. This includes:

  • deployment allowance
  • international campaign allowance
  • Special Forces disability allowance
  • clearance diver allowance.
