Overseas conditions of service

In 2016 the Australian Government conducted a review of entitlements, allowances and financial support provided to Australian Government representatives posted overseas. As a result of this review Defence was required to make a number of changes to the overseas conditions of service package to align benefits to a Whole of Government framework.

Some overseas provisions that are provided will be different depending on when the member was posted, or recevied notification of their posting. The relevant provisions are clearly shown using the two terms 'Member posted before 1 July 2017' and 'Member posted on or after 1 July 2017'. These two terms are defined in Chapter 12 Part 3.

These changes are available in Chapter 12 Part 3, Chapter 14 Part 2, Part 3 Division 2 and Part 6 Division 1, Chapter 15 Part 2 and Part 2A, and Chapter 16.
