This Determination provides that a member's contribution towards living-in accommodation is no longer affected bythe number of people the member shares a room with but the number of beds in the room. It also provides that a member is eligible for assistance for costs associated with entering a rental lease if they are eligible for rent allowance. These changes will beavailable in Chapter 7 Part 4 Division 3 and Division 4, Part 8 Division 6, Part 9 Division 1, Part 10 and Annex 7.4.B.
This Determination sets out a range of reforms to leave that support the introduction of
a new ADF payroll system to be used in the Department of Defence.These changes will be available in Chapter 5 Part 4 Division 3, Division 5 and Division 8 and Part 9 Division 5.
This Determination implements revised post indexes for ADF members at overseas posting locations. These changes are available in Chapter 15 Part 2 Annex 15.2.A.
This Determination provides reunion and escort provisions, education assistance and benchmark schools for members who are posted to Cherbourg, France. These changes are available in Chapter 15 Part 3 Division 3, Part 6 Division 4 and Annex 15.6.A.
In 2016 the Australian Government conducted a review of entitlements, allowances and financial support provided to Australian Government representatives posted overseas. As a result of this review Defence was required to make a number of changes to the overseas conditions of service package to align benefits to a Whole of Government framework.
Some overseas provisions that are provided will be different depending on when the member was posted, or recevied notification of their posting. The relevant provisions are clearly shown using the two terms 'Member posted before 1 July 2017' and 'Member posted on or after 1 July 2017'. These two terms are defined in Chapter 12 Part 3.
Defence One is the new human resource (HR) management and payroll system for Defence.
Release 1a will bring the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and Australian Public Service (APS) into a single system, Defence One. This will involve significant change in terminology, how ADF members apply for absences and allowances and how applications are approved and processed.
