Childcare costs on removal

You may get help with the cost of childcare on removal.

Who can get childcare costs on removal?

You may get help with the cost of childcare on removal if:

  • you have a dependant child who:
    • is under 11 years old, and
    • has a disability

and

  • you have to pay for childcare

and

  • for family, Service or medical reasons, only you or one adult dependant can help with the removal.

Family reasons may include:

  • you, your spouse or other adult dependants can’t help with the removal because of work commitments
  • you are a single parent and there is no other adult dependant to help with the removal, or
  • you, your spouse or other adult dependant is looking after a close family member who is ill. You should have a medical certificate to support your claim.

Medical reasons may include an adult dependant who is unable to help with the removal because of work commitments.

When can I get childcare costs on removal?

You may get childcare costs on removal at either your old or your new location.

If your adult dependant is also a member, only one of you can claim childcare costs on removal.

How many days of childcare costs on removal can I get?

You may get up to 2 days in total per move for each eligible dependant child.
