Exercise Pacific Protector 03 overview

Proliferation Security Initiative Defence Support

Proliferation Security Initiative

Australia has been one of the most prominent supporters of the Proliferation Security Initiative since its launch in May 2003.

Australia highlighted its strong commitment to PSI by hosting the first PSI Exercise PACIFIC PROTECTOR 03, off the coast of Queensland in September 2003.

PACIFIC PROTECTOR 03 was a maritime interdiction activity in the Coral Sea, which involved representatives from 10 countries.

Australian Defence Force and Australian Customs Service vessels participated, along with Japanese Coast Guard and United States Navy ships, and a French aircraft.
