Elizabeth Nicolaidis, from the Queensland suburb of Holland Park, will be returning home to celebrate NAIDOC Week in South Brisbane.
The 21-year-old Department of Defence Graduate is a descendant of the Wakka Wakka and Kabi Kabi tribes. She will be celebrating NAIDOC Week back home, at Musgrave Park in South Brisbane.
"NAIDOC Week is about the entire mob coming together as one celebrating our history, our culture and our achievements.
"I look forward to returning home and catching up with my close friends, partner and family during the week of celebrations," says Elizabeth.
The former Cavendish Road State High School student went through the Indigenous Pathways Traineeship application process to find herself working within the Defence Learning Branch.
"I previously worked in Customer Service and Hospitality but decide to apply for the Trainee program.
"It has been a great opportunity as I get to work and develop my skills whilst also undertaking studies to complete my Certificate IV in Government," says Elizabeth.
