The Defence Corporate Pathway is a key enabler of Defence’s mission and provides future leaders across the Department and recruits high-calibre university graduates from all disciplines to five job streams: Generalist; Human Resources: Information and Computer Technology; Estate and Infrastructure; and Finance.
We can offer graduates meaningful and challenging work from day one. Those who are successful in joining us will undertake a wide range of management, administrative, finance, personnel and policy roles throughout the Department of Defence. Graduates join a network of people all dedicated to working on issues that impact the well-being of all Australians.
The Information and Communication Technology Stream takes twelve months to complete and comprises three information technology rotations of four months each. The first of these is undertaken in Canberra with the possibility of a rotation in a regional area for those looking for a further challenge. This Pathway is open to graduates with tertiary qualifications in ICT.
In each rotation you will have real tasks and responsibilities, and be fully integrated into the work team to ensure you reach your full potential.

The Chief Information Officer Group (CIOG), within the Department of Defence, is responsible for ensuring that Defence has a dependable, secure and integrated Single Information Environment (SIE) to support Defence business and military operations. Defence has the third largest information and communications network in Australia and we conduct around $1.3 billion worth of business in support of Defence operations around the world.
