What is the Nature of your injury or illness?

I was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer three years ago. After a number of rounds of treatment and surgeries I have been able to return to work with my unit.

What role has sport played in your rehabilitation?

I competed in the 2016 Invictus Games and it helped me return to normal life following my illness. It gave me something to work towards.

What is your greatest achievement to date?

Being selected for the Australian Invictus Games Team and using it to support my recovery in enabling me to return to active service. It really is an amazing experience and something I feel very fortunate to be part of.

Why did you apply for the Invictus Games?

I wanted to compete alongside other military personnel who have been wounded, injured or become ill. I wanted to hear their stories about recovery, treatment and the challenges they face on a day to day basis.
