What is the Nature of your injury or illness?

I injured my right shoulder playing rugby while I was studying at the Australian Defence Force Academy. I also suffer from mental health issues.

What role has sport played in your rehabilitation?

Sport has played a huge role in my rehabilitation. Twelve months ago I started Zen Do Kai, which was a huge step for me at the time as I couldn’t even leave the house or socialise by myself. These activities have helped give me confidence and independence.

What is your greatest achievement to date?

Getting to a stage in my recovery where I feel brave enough to set goals and try out for things like the Invictus Games.

Why did you apply for the Invictus Games?

I wanted the opportunity to see people do amazing things; it shows us what can be done when you say “I can”.
