The Department of Defence is holding a Community Walk-in Session to provide the local community with an update on the detailed environmental investigation into per- and poly- fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) on, and in the vicinity of, RAAF Base Townsville.
The Townsville Investigation Team will be providing the findings of the Detailed Site Investigation Report and advising of the next stage of the investigation.
Light refreshments will be provided and all are welcome.

From 29 to 30 November Defence held Community Walk-in Sessions at Townsville to provide an update on the results of the detailed environmental investigation into per- and poly- fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) on and in the vicinity of RAAF Base Townsville. Community members were also given an opportunity to fill in Water Use Surverys.

This Water Use Survey has been designed as part of the RAAF Base Townsville environmental investigation to collect information about water supply and use on properties around the base.
Your participation in this survey is voluntary and you do not have to provide an answer to each question if you choose not to. There is a privacy statement in the survey that explains how the information you provide will be used.

On 14 June 2017, a Community Walk-in Session was held to detail the Water Use Survey commencing at RAAF Base Townsville.
On 6 March 2017, a Community Walk-in Session was held to announce that the Environmental Investigation was soon to commence and detail the name of the Lead Consultant to conduct the Investigation.
On 29 November 2016, a Community Walk-in Session was held to announcing the findings of the a Preliminary Sampling Program and Defence's commitment to conducting an Environmental Investigation.
