2019 Consultations

APR 16

Community Walk-in Session

On 16 April, Defence held a Community Walk-in Session as part of the investigation and management of per- and poly- fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) on, and in the vicinity of RAAF Base Richmond.

The session was held to provide an update to the community on the development of the PFAS Management Area Plan.

Members of the Project Team were available to discuss and answer questions about the outcomes of the completed environmental investigation as well as provide information on the remediation and management activities being considered as part of the PFAS Management Area Plan.

NSW Government agency representatives were also available to assist community members.

2018 Consultations

Community Information Session

On 7 November, Defence held a Community Information Session, to provide information on the detailed environmental investigation into per-and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at RAAF Base Richmond and nearby areas.

Defence has now completed a Human Health Risk Assessment (HHRA) and an Ecological Risk Assessment (ERA), to identify potential exposure pathways to people, plants and animals, and inform actions to reduce PFAS exposure.

The Session included a presentation about the HHRA and ERA findings, and an update on the PFAS Management Area Plan.

Community Walk-in Session

On 14 June, Defence held a Community Walk-in Session to provide local residents and business owners with an opportunity to discuss the detailed environmental investigation into per- and poly- fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at RAAF Base Richmond and nearby areas.

At this session, the Richmond Project Team presented the Detailed Site Investigation findings. Community members also received information about the next steps in the investigation, including the preparation of the Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessment.

Community Walk-in Session

On 7 September 2017, Defence held a community walk-in session to provide local residents and business owners with an opportunity to discuss the detailed environmental investigation into per- and poly- fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) on and in the vicinity of RAAF Base Richmond. Community Walk-in Session

Community Walk-in Session

On 12 December 2016 Defence held a community walk-in session in Richmond to discuss the investigation into per- and poly- fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at RAAF Base Richmond. To read more about this event, please download the presentation.

Water Use Survey (closed)

In 2017 Defence opened a Water Use Survey as part of the RAAF Base Richmond Environmental Investigation to collect information about water supply and use on properties around the Base.

The water use survey is now closed. Thank you to all who participated.
