Black Hawks deliver aid to flood ravaged Ingham

Black Hawks deliver aid to flood ravaged Ingham

An Army Black Hawk helicopter lifts a palet of aid in Townsville, for transport to Ingham, to help provide relief to the flood-stricken community.

06 February - Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel are assisting the Ingham community as they cope with current flooding.

Following a request for support from Emergency Management Australia, the ADF transported aviation fuel from Townsville to Ingham to support the continued operation of civilian aircraft that are supporting the population in that area.

Two Black Hawk helicopters from Army’s Townsville based 5th Aviation Regiment moved the fuel from Townsville to Ingham today (5th February).

Defence remains prepared to support requests to provide assistance in the Ingham region in North Queensland. Together with the local and Government authorities, Defence is continuing to scope what additional support may be required in the region.
