Vision
A Defence environment where people work together to improve capability by preventing injury and illness and effectively manage their impact on people, reputation, recruitment and retention.
Mission
To support Defence’s leaders in fulfilling their leadership and corporate OHS responsibilities.
Role
In supporting senior leaders the OHS Branch will:
- Provide whole-of-Defence corporate OHS products and services which assist Services and Groups to minimise the incidence and severity of work-related injury, illness and disease.
- Formulate and/or coordinate the design, development, implementation, maintenance, review and evaluation of:
- a Defence-wide OHS management system;
- corporate safety, injury management and rehabilitation policy, procedures, projects and products; and
- corporate OHS and rehabilitation skilling programs
- Facilitate improved OHS management reporting and analysis;
- Provide strategic, OHS stakeholder engagement, communication coordination, representation and external liaison, and issues monitoring;
- Provide specialist OHS advisory services.
