PSPG Vision & Mission
Vision
A personnel system that unlocks the full potential
of Defence people
Concept of Operation
The 'personnel system' in our Vision is broad and
refers to the environment (including the rules, principles, employment
frameworks/arrangements and advice) that governs the way people
work in Defence.
Our Vision speaks of the need to create a 'personnel
system' environment that focuses on 'unlocking' the full potential
of all our people. As the custodian and steward of people issues,
it is our goal to develop effective personnel frameworks and people
initiatives, and to position and support the 'personnel system',
to enable Defence to attract, recruit, develop, retain and transition
the right people.
To do this, PSPG will use its 'people first' approach,
re-establishing personnel policy making based on principles and
aiming for continuous improvement in the delivery of quality personnel
planning, policy and services to our customers. We will build
our knowledge in every area, by fostering an organisation that
encourages and rewards learning and empowers people at every level,
to enable the delivery of capability in a climate where people
can do their best.
We also will build the confidence of customers through
cooperation, strong leadership, expertise, innovation, genuine
consultation, credibility and business acumen. We will communicate
to the people we serve, both those in uniform and Defence civilians,
and to contractors and other stakeholders. But most importantly
we will communicate with ourselves so that we move forward to
achieve our Vision, 'a personnel system that unlocks the full
potential of Defence people'.
