Terms and conditions for ongoing employees in Defence are covered by the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement. The agreement allows for a range of flexible work conditions and leave provisions including:
- four weeks annual leave
- minimum of three weeks personal leave each year for illness and caring purposes
- access to up to 52 weeks maternity leave, including up to 12 weeks paid leave
- flexitime and access to other flexible working arrangements
- assistance for further formal study
- Christmas stand-down
- paid long-service leave.
